Federico Dimarco has been recognised as Serie A’s standout player for the 2025/26 season after playing a central role in Inter’s dominant domestic campaign.
The Italian wing-back was named the league’s Best Overall Player, following a season in which his attacking influence reached remarkable levels. Dimarco finished the Serie A campaign with 7 goals and 18 assists, with the latter representing an all-time league record since assist data began being recorded in 2004/05. Serie A also highlighted his league-leading numbers for key passes and successful crosses, underlining just how important he was to Inter’s attacking game.
His individual success came alongside major team honours. Inter secured their 21st Scudetto before completing a domestic double with a 2-0 victory over Lazio in the Coppa Italia final. Dimarco’s consistency and creativity from the left flank were among the defining features of Cristian Chivu’s title-winning side.
Nico Paz has also been rewarded for a breakthrough year, with the Como star named Best Young Player in Serie A at the 2026 Gran Galà del Calcio. The 21-year-old was additionally selected in the league’s Team of the Year after establishing himself as one of Italian football’s most exciting attacking talents.
Paz recorded 12 goals and 7 assists in Serie A, becoming the creative centrepiece of Cesc Fàbregas’ Como side. His influence went beyond his goals and assists: Serie A data placed him first among midfielders for total shots, shots on target and attempts from distance, while he was officially named the league’s Best Midfielder for the 2025/26 campaign.
His performances helped Como achieve something unprecedented in the club’s history: qualification for the 2026/27 Champions League, their first appearance in Europe’s leading club competition.
The recognition of Dimarco and Paz reflects two of the strongest individual stories from the 2025/26 Serie A season. At 28, Dimarco produced the finest campaign of his career and turned the wing-back position into one of Inter’s biggest attacking weapons. Paz, born in 2004, demonstrated why he is regarded among the most exciting players of his generation while carrying an increasingly important role at Como.
The Italian club also made a major commitment to keeping the Argentine in the summer. Real Madrid and Como officially confirmed an agreement for Paz to remain in Italy for 2026/27, with Madrid retaining a unilateral buy-back option for the following season. Reports in Italy and Spain valued Como’s deal at approximately €60 million.
For Dimarco, the award completes a season of records and trophies. For Paz, it feels more like another step in a rapidly developing caree; and Champions League football will now provide the 21-year-old with an even bigger stage on which to prove himself.
